Integral Counseling refers to Holistic Counseling or Mind-Body Therapy -- an integrated approach to mental health healing. Depending upon each client's preference, counseling sessions may include such techniques as meditation, guided visualization, or therapeutic yoga, with the goal of guiding each client toward their inner teacher so that blocks that have become obstacles to the true self can gently be released, bringing them closer to their calm, centered, and vibrant self. I believe that everyone has the potential for a balanced, fulfilling life, despite the challenges that life presents, and that every obstacle is an opportunity to grow and learn.
Hypnotherapy - Imagine being able to harness the power of your subconscious mind to focus on self-improvement, changing negative patterns and habits so that you are making healthier choices. Hypnotherapy can help you to “rewire” old thoughts. Through guided suggestion and visualization, hypnotherapy can help with weight loss, food issues, smoking cessation, addictive behaviors, anxiety, depression, lack of self-confidence, loss/grief, insomnia, pain management, phobias, and so much more. Hypnotherapy can help you to overcome your personal challenges, whatever they might be.
Therapeutic Yoga is a particularly effective practice for those recovering from, or living with, injury or illness. Therapeutic Yoga is a deeply meditative experience - it provides the opportunity to step away from the busy-ness of the outside world and access the deeper wisdom that resides within us. Therapeutic Yoga can be beneficial to everyone for relaxation and to reduce stress and tension. Other conditions that may benefit form Therapeutic Yoga include: anxiety, addiction, asthma, cancer, cardiac issues, chronic fatigue, chronic pain, depression, diabetes, fibromyalgia, headaches, high blood pressure, infertility and insomnia
Reiki is an ancient Japanese therapeutic practice that promotes a feeling of balance and relaxation in the mind and body. A Reiki session consists of the practitioner placing their hands through light touch on or above the body in a prescribed pattern, enhancing the recipient's awareness of their own energy. Sessions can leave you feeling rested and vibrant
Reflexology is an ancient holistic healing technique based on the theory that there are reflexes in the feet and hands that are relative to every organ in the body. The stimulation of these reflex points can calm and relax tense muscles and bring the body into balance, accelerating it's own healing abilities. According to the International Institute of Reflexology, 75 percent of our health problems can be linked to stress. Stress causes our bodies' pituitary and adrenal glands to secrete "stress hormones" like adrenaline and cortisol. These powerful hormones trigger our "fight-or-flight" instinct by tightening our arteries and raising blood-sugar levels, blood pressure and heart rate. At the same time, the hormones slow more important functions like food digestion, cell repair and immune function. Reflexology is a highly effective form of preventative health maintenance, a valuable tool in remaining healthy -- mind, body and spirit. From ancient texts, illustrations and artifacts, we know that the early Chinese, Japanese, Indians, Russians and Egyptians worked on the feet and hands to improve health and well-being.
Private Yoga Sessions are available by appointment for individuals or small groups. A private yoga session allows for a more intimate view into your practice. You can start a new practice, deepen your practice or spend some time working with an injury or condition. A private yoga session is a wonderful way to celebrate birthday parties, family reunions, bridal/wedding showers, or simply a relaxing get-together with friends.
